Mmmm....pie charts.

The Texas Comptroller has this handy Web page to help taxpayers track their cash: http://www.window.state.tx.us/comptrol/expendlist/cashdrill.php.

Nice as a roll-over pie chart is, I like the glossary best. In my pre-Victoria life, I reported on city government, so I can tell you -- there's an awful lot of jargon that goes into budgets.

The Associated Press reports U.S. Sen. John Cornyn wants the federal government to host a similar page. This site http://usaspending.gov/ tracks federal spending.

Do I get Texas-transplant brownie points for saying the state site is way better?
