So here's another question e-mailed from a reader: How do you look up criminal records?

Here are some tips for getting started:  Checking the district or county clerks' offices will show you what crimes a person has been formally charged with, the latest information about case and results of previous cases. You can search the records yourself, which is great, and if you're stumped, clerks will help you. They're a helpful bunch at the courthouse.
You can use idockets.com for the same information, but I think that requires a paid subscription.
Arrest reports are available at the sheriff's office and incident reports are available there and at the police department. You'll likely need to make a formal request for these.
Let me know if you need help searching public records my e-mail is lwilber@vicad.com and my phone number is 361-580-6521. It's your information,  and most of it is available, even if it takes a little work.
