Franchione has been under fire since the Aggies lost to Miami on national television and it was disclosed he had been e-mailing information to influential alumni for a fee.

Franchione became emotional as he said he had no intention of resigning and thanked his players for their support.

Athletic director Bill Byrne's said only he would not discuss the head coaching postion during the season, hardly a rock-solid show of support.

Franchione's future is likely to be determined by how the Aggies fare the rest of the season, beginning with Saturday's game against Oklahoma State at Kyle Field.
