Some big games tonight.

Bay City at El Campo in 24-4A is always entertaining. Ricebirds trying to continue impressive run while the Blackcats attempt to bounce back from last week's beat down at the hands of Lamar Consolidated. The team that controls the tempo should win this game.

Edna is at Hallettsville and Rice Cons. is at Schulenburg in 28-2A. Schulenburg beat Rice Cons. last year and word is the Shorthorns should be close to full strength. Hallettsville is unbeaten in district and Edna's only loss was to Rice Cons. If Hallettsville and Rice Cons. win, it will set up a showdown next week in Altair.

Beeville at Gregory-Portland is the key game in 30-4A. If Beeville wins, it will play two of its remaining three games at home and would seem to be a lock for the playoffs.

Palacios must control the ball to defeat Gonzales in 29-3A. Gonzales may be the most-improved team in the area. The Apaches are having great success throwing the football. Cuero-Yoakum could be ugly.
