Week 7 has come and gone. El Campo edged Bay City and all but set itself up for the top seed in 24-4A in the Division II playoffs. The Blackcats will probably have to win out to make the playoffs.
Calhoun and Gregory-Portland square off in Port Lavaca for the outright lead in District 30-4A. G-P knocked off Beeville last week. Calhoun'sdefense is playing exceptionally well.
Gonzales got a scare from Palacios in 29-3A. The Apaches play Yoakum this week before their showdown against Cuero, which has a bye. Palacios looks for its first district win over Goliad. Palacios needs to beat Goliad and Yoakum to break its long playoff drought.
Four-way tie in 28-2A. Games to watch this week are Hallettsville at Rice Consolidated and Schulenburg at Tidehaven. Loser of Hallettsville-Rice could be in trouble. Edna plays improving Ganado.
Refugio looks for revenge of last year's 31-2A loss to Skidmore-Tynan. Refugio has clinched a playoff berth and can clinch at least a share of the title with a win.
Shiner is back on track in 31-1A. Louise playing a must-win game at Flatonia and Pettus hosts Falls City in another big game.
