The Texas Rangers have got to be making Nolan Ryan's life miserable.
All the Hall of Famer, who is now the Rangers president, can do is watch as his pitching staff continues to self-destruct.
The Rangers were torched for 19 runs on Tuesday night in Boston and the Red Sox came back to score eight on Wednesday night.
Texas spotted Boston a 10-0 first-inning lead on Tuesday night, including a pair of three-run home runs by David Ortiz and still managed to come back and take the lead.
The Rangers offense is that good. But it's pitching staff is so bad, it gave the lead up.
Texas has fallen out of the Wild Card race, even though it was pretty clear it was never really in it.
It's difficult to watch the pitching collapse night after night and GM Jon Daniels, who has made some less than favorable trades involving pitchers, had better do something about it.
Texas has some outstanding young players such as Michael Young, Ian Kinsler and Josh Hamilton, who is worth the price of a ticket. But it won't matter if the Rangers don't find some pitching.
Nolan Ryan can't get back on the mound, but the Rangers need to find someone who can.

I'm afraid the Texas Rangers are doomed. With their experience in the July and August heat in DFW, why they did not build a domed stadium for their pitching staff is beyond me.
August 14, 2008 at 7:31 a.m.Houston learned years ago and built not one, but two domed stadiums. Their experience with the Buffs, and them the early day 45's was enough to convince them that no ballplayer should/could perform consitantly in our hot summer months.
Take a look at past pitchers who passed through Arlington, failed there, and then went on to other locales with great success. Edwin Volquez anyone?
Makes me wonder why they don't at least go to a six man rotation in these months. Maybe it's because they don't even have two starters, but I'd think it would be worth a try in our hottest months.
