If you've followed sports in this area, especially in Lavaca County, you are probably familiar with Chuck Grafe.

Grafe has been a reporter for the Lavaca County Tribune-Herald and has done commentary on the radio.

Grafe's son Zach partcipated in sports at Hallettsville High School and went on to become the head basketball coach at Fort Bend Clements.

Zach, 32, passed away on Dec. 29 after a long battle with cancer. Grafe leaves behind a wife and two children.

Chuck Grafe said of his son: He was a great kid but above that, a father and husband. His little girls thought the world of him. He gained a lot of respect during his years at Clements. The kids played hard for him.Please keep Zach in your thoughts and prayers and send your condolonces to Chuck.
