I recently received a notice that my Heisman Trophy ballot would soon be on the way.

Decision time is nearing. Obvious candidates are Big 12 quarterbacks Graham Harrell or Texas Tech, Colt McCoy of Texas and Sam Bradford of Oklahoma.

A strong case could be made for Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree and I wouldn't count out Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, who won the award last season.

Alabama's Javier Arenas is an interesting choice as a defensive back. Don't forget, Michigan defensive back Charles Woodson beat out Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning for the award.

What do you think? The deadline to vote is Dec. 10 and I'll be happy to take your suggestions under consideration.

  • Colt McCoy has been consistent all season with not just his high percentage arm but also with his ability to run the ball ,either at will or on a busted play .He to me has shown that football sense to do what it takes to best help his team to be the best week in and week out. Thanks for the chance to share in this event.
