Beeville athletic director and head football coach Chris Soza was named the athletic director and head football coach at Alice on Tuesday night.

Soza attended high school at Alice and was the starting quarterback for the Coyotes before going on to play at Texas A&I (currently Texas A&M-Kingsville).

Soza was at Beeville for five years and led the Trojans to four playoff appearances. He had a record of 37-24 at Beeville. The Trojans wnet 8-5 last season and advanced to the Division II regional playoffs.

Soza was previously the head coach at Mathis for eight seasons. He has an overall head coaching record of 101-57.
