Freethinker is from California.....I would expect no less from him. Alton, kudos to you for making the very difficult leap from thinking about eating right & exercising to actually doing it. It is difficult to eat right these days. Breakfast is so important because it jump starts the bodies metabolism. Skipping breakfast slows the metabolism down. Not eating makes the body think it's starving which leads to the body storing all food consumed to fat as it thinks it may need it later. (I miss when anorexia worked!) When I was dieting I ate a lot of rice cakes, they come flavored now & still have minimal calories. Animal crackers are also helpful when having a major sweet craving, it beats smelling the cookies like I used to do. Good luck to you! Hope you meet your goal.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO. I love buffets....alton use a smaller plate. tricks you into eating less. My tummy is a smart organ.
Well I'm not trying to sale any books. Saccharin is also a sulfonamide and has caused problems for people allergic to sulfa drugs! Especially infants and children with formulas made with saccharin! Pregnant women are not suppose to drink anything with saccharin. It causes bladder cancer in male laboratory rats! Not that does not sound like anything healthy to me.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with artificial sweetners. They have been given a bad rap and all sorts of garbage goes around the internet about how they are gonna kill you. This is a way for health nuts to make money selling books about how bad artificial sweetners are.
An excess of anything may be harmful, however artificial sweetners are tremendously safe. Diabetics use them exctensively and exclusively with no problems. Of course there are some people who have allergies....but that is another discussion.
Sugar substitutes are not healthy. Sweet and low contains saccharin which studies have shown can cause bladder cancer. Eating saccharin in not a healthy eating choice. And Splenda is not excreted from your body in a timely manner. I agree there is to much sugar in a lot of food products but don't be mislead by people saying artificial sweetners are healthy for you.
