  • Does turbo tax make mistakes like this? I will do mine first so that it works. And cool granny, i am doing the same thing. Told my child that i will give her the amount of the difference she would get if she claimed herself and filed, because i need the deduction and  can take it.

  • ALTON: Last year's return was done via  a PAID version of TURBO TAX.  My federal refund was back in two or three weeks. After waiting about six weeks for our New Mexico state refund I called to ask about it. Surprise, TURDBOTAX hadn't forwarded that one in even though they had my money. That resulted in our having to paper file. A week later they told me,"At this time of year, it might take 8 or 10 weeks." A month later it was, "At this time of year, it may take 10 to 12 weeks". We were afraid to call again.
That's sorta like that Cajun kid who showed up back at home less than a week after  he'd reported to basic training. (Musta been at Fort Polk) His, papa, a loyal American veteran axed his boy chile, "Hey, Boudreaux, wacha be doin' back home? Doan told me dat you done went an' Gone AWOL EYED."
"PAPA, dem army peoples are plum crazy like coona--es on Sat'dy night when dey been sluggin' on down dat Tennessee sippin' whiskey, you know dat Jacques Donyells. Why, de fust day dere dis guy gived us a hair combin' comb. Dat ver same day dey cut off all ma head hairs. Den de nex day dey gived me a teeth brushin' brush den dey went an' pulled tree of ma teeth. When dey handed us dem athlectic unsupporters, you know unka Pierre call dem jockey straps, who needs one a dem to ride a horse anyway? When dey handed me dat ting dis coona-- wudden gonna stick aroun to see what dey wuz gonna do nex."

  • Been there, done that. I think I wrote the student a check that year. The ratio for the check and the deduction wasn't even close.
