  • I hear ya, Alton. The only solar anything that lasted were the gate openers at the leases. We still use them on the feeders. The boys also used the solar panels to move something for science fairs. I showed the scouts how to cook a hot dog on aluminum foil, but that was long ago. Hub's company just discovered a huge natural gas pocket off of the coast of Israel-enough to make a company-his words. I still think the key to all of this is conservation. Turning off lights, higher and lower digit heat and cold thermostats, insulation galore, and filtering our own water. Cars-I know that there are engines out there with pep that can still get good mileage. My mawmaw car is huge, V-8, and still gets 22-28 on the highway. It  can be done, just needs to be done and pronto. I know I will end up with one of those electric cars for buzzing to the grocery store, etc. If our main drag wasn't a feel the need for speed road, I'd get a moped, but that would be setting myself up for certain death. I have grandkids to enjoy, so won't go there. Dang, I am scared of this group. Pelosi makes me the maddest.
