  • Alton rereading this post it really is very good. Not being able to pass the physical I have no military thing there but with a dad that was an old SeaBee working with the Marines in the Pacific, a brother that was a 23 year Corpsman FMF (Doc to you) that is some ties there. And a son now a Capt USArmy. But I know how you Marines are. Y'all work for the Navy right? Just kidding.....

    Your allegiances are good.

Small J with little man syndrome.......

What the heck are you talking about? That Santa Anna did not do away with the Mexican Constitution and become a dictator? That the settlers did not ask that the Mexican Constitution be reinnstated, and if so it could lead to a resolution? That Santa Anna did not think the little "natives" in their white outfits who did the initial assault on the Alamo were the equal of his "Mexican citizens" in their fancy uniforms and that he purposely used the Natives as cannon fodder to drain down the Texicans ammunition before using his valued "true Mexican" soldiers.

Or maybe no understanding that many hispanics were on the muster rolls of the Confederacy, like that of Santos Benevides and his calvary.

Or are you really selling the propaganda that the fighters at the Alamo were just a bunch of white men fighting for slavery? Get off you duff and do some reading of the names there.

Revolutions, wars, extreme, violent societal changes are started and executed by more than just single talking points. Learning about history has taught me to look far beyond the popular propaganda. We tell the kids at school days to go beyond the mainstream talking point glazing you learn in school and dig into the thoughts of those that were living at that time. That is where you learn what really was going on. Simple things like, if the War Between the States was all about a supposedly total "anti slavery North" against slavery why did it take Lincoln a year and a half to put out the emanciaption proclamation? It is a lot more than a simple sentence or paragraph.

True history, research makes it appear. Revisionist are amazed fire melts steel. And a 7 trillion dept is more than a 1 trillion. And treating all equally is actually equal treatment.

I would suggest making sure brain is engaged before putting mouth or keyboard in gear. That is why the Nobama has to have a teleprompter.

  • Alton,

I agree - to follow blindly without question can sooner or later lead to destruction.

I also agree about that special brotherhood shared with brothers-in-arms. Those who haven't been under fire will never truly understand the bond that transcends race, ethnicity, politics and religion.

  • Bigj,
You are sorta right, I would bet you would get a different answer from the indigenous population of the area called Mexico and Central American tho.

The native population in that part of the world was treated as second class citizens since the Spaniards first sailed there and still are to a extent.

The old Spanish bloodlines still rule the political make-up of a lot of countries south of the US.

  • Texas became a nation because Santa Anna went back on his promise to reinstate the Mexican constitution if he was elected. He did not do that and made himself a dictator. In a way kind of like the messiah is trying to do now.

The Texican settlers were willing to live under that constitution. Historical revisionism is still alive and well in the progressive liberal world I see. A while back I heard a little girl say that the fighters at the Alamo were just a bunch of white men trying to keep their slaves. A young latina. Her reading the list of names might be a small start in her correctly taught education. Guess the progressive historical revisionists have invaded more ethnic groups. Well, I know they have. And the main stream media. Guess that's why they always report low on attendees at Tea Parties.

The Kool Aid flows freely nowadays.

It's funny. The killing of citizens was okay because that was war in WWII. But,...a democrat president was in charge. But now the enemy hides behind them, and uses them as weapons. And now for some reason that is our fault.
