Is the Obama Administration extending the power of the office of the President?

At the direction of the President, the Federal Communications Commission announced it will regulate the Internet.

Despite of warnings that it could strangle industry investment and damage an economy that is still struggling to recover the Obama administration used its administrative power to direct the FCC action.

Despite of lawmakers in both parties arguing for months that only Congress has the power to make legislation in deciding whether and how much to police the web, the Obama administration blatantly ignored the Constitution and took power away from Congress.

Despite the April ruling by the Federal Appellate Court that "while Congress gave the FCC broad and adaptable power to keep pace with evolving technology, it needs, and lacks, express authorization from Congress to interfere with the management of broadband by the internet providers"; the Obama administration directed the FCC to go forward in regulating the internet. This is a clear violation of the court ruling and blatantly abuse of the power of the office of the President.

Despite the failure of the Waxman-Markey cap and trade bill (American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 ) to become law—the Obama Administration has directed the EPA to go forward with regulation of carbon emissions as a greenhouse gas. Following through with this directive, the EPA has announced it will take over emission permits in Texas. This is a clear increase in the power of the central government and a bigger more powerful federal government over state’s rights. It is also a blatant abuse of the power of the President.

Despite the Comptroller of Texas report that the cap and trade bill if enacted into law could cause the loss of over 400,000 jobs in Texas, and “The average Texas household could pay up to an extra $1,136 on household goods and services over a year with a total potential cost to Texas families of $6.9 billion.”

Despite the Obama’s Administration claims to made job creation its number one priority, we see actions to the contrary.

It amazes me that liberty loving Americans are not protesting these actions of the Obama Administration.
