  • The problem is that baby boomer leadership is not working and lacks vision. It seems that our current national leadership, whether in business, religion, social, or in government, are too busy fighting culture wars. When was the last time, a President challenge the nation to go above the norm? Thomas Jefferson had Lewis and Clark; Lincoln and Grant had anti-slavery groups; FDR had the Hoover Dam and TWA, JFK had Apollo.

  • There is no way to balance the budget without addressing social security, medicare and national defense. The numbers just don't work. Someone is going to have to take it in the shorts. I vote the current adult generations and not our children who have no say in the idiot decisions being made by thier seniors but are currently doomed to have to pay for it all.

They should rightfully refuse to pay and default when they are adults. Would serve the rest of us old geezers right for allowing it all to come to this.

  • Oh come now Mr. Easton. Did you honestly expect they would fix anything? Throughout this whole economic meltdown, that started with housing a few years ago, and on to present, the name of the game has been to kick the can down the road. Whistle past the graveyard. They have fixed nothing. Only transferred the burden from those that rightfully deserved to lose everything for thier foolish decisions onto the backs of taxpayers who were overwhelmingly against the bailouts but ignored anyway.

How long can this continue ? A few more weeks ? Months ? Even years ? Who really knows. But a day of reckoning will come and it will be all the worse than it needed to be due to this stupidity.

  • The solution to our national debt problem was passed by the House and stalled by the Democrats in the Senate. Cut, Cap and Balance would have this country back on track in less than ten years.
