It is sad that today, June 6th, a day in history the only reference to D-Day in the Advocate was in the comics. With over 160,000 troops landing on 6 June 1944 and 195,700 sailor on ships, the Normandy landings, was the largest amphibious invasion in world history,. On this day, many of our ancestors gave their lives for freedom. Don’t they deserve at least a mention in our local paper to honor them?
