  • Vet3, you are correct they had intensions to sell some of the crop to offset cost, but they never did. And you must have missed the fact; they were instructed to halt all "disturbance of soil". They are not allowed to attend to the current garden, use any of the current garden, give away any of the current garden, or grow another garden. Following the legal orders the garden is going to waste.

  • I take it they have zoning laws there. Here we do not.

  • Like deed restriction nazis everywhere, some people just can't mind their own business. When Ol' Templin starts paying the mortgage and/or taxes on the Bucuk's property, I'd say THEN he has a right to say what can be done with the land.

  • Thank you ddherring. It would seem some details were omited in the original blog. The 3 acers that the crops were raised on would be called a truck fram many places. The farmer was raising them to sell at a farmers market. That would be commercial farming. Also it does not say he can't grow the veggies just not sell them. He can grow and give away as much as he wants and I am sure there is food bank that would love to have the food.

  • Here's something about the Texas Baker's Bill: http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/cityo...

Just in case you were interested.

  • What is the status of the baker's bill in Texas? Some of my friends were trying to fight the law that makes selling baked goods illegal, unless those goodies come from a commercial establishment. I'm all for cottage industries.

  • http://www.dailyrecord.com/article/20... Yup Vet, it is indeed a tea-party hoax, they are trying to incite a Holy war against the govt., I will contact our local czar and report Mr. Easton and his right-wing followers.

  • Could someone help verify this story. This has a tea party ring to it. Or maybe someone heard that a guy told another guy that he heard about this evil commie plot to take away our stringbeans!

  • AltonEaston...You're simply not living in the modern world. You're obviously stuck in the past when being an American meant you had liberty. You're living in the days when citizens didn't worry much about what the government was going to do to them; when a man's home was indeed his castle and the Constitution was still a viable document. Sigh, I miss those days, too.
