One of the big problems I have with the state’s red light camera law is that the city citation is issued to the registered owner of the vehicle.
This may not be an issue with many citizens, because when they sell or trade-in their used car they actually walk over to the court house and make sure the title is transferred to the new owner. Also, some citizens maybe comfortable paying the citation when the red light violation occurred when a friend or family member used the vehicle. My question is: “If the owner of a vehicle is responsible for red light violations what is next”? We all know that the government is always trying to expand current laws.

Will we be responsible for the use of a firearm that is registered to us? Will we be responsible for the use of an old cell phone we discarded? Will we be responsible for the use of an old computer we donated?
