Woke up yesterday to a new digital guide on my cable box. To say it is an improvement would be and over statement and to say it sux is an understatement. 1. All saved recordings are GONE 2. All series recordings that were set up are GONE 3. To navigate through the new guide seems to take 1 to 4 or 5 extra steps 4. We now have advertisement at the bottom of the channel guide page 5. When I called Suddenlink they told me to go to channel 996 and that there would be a tutorial on how the new guide works, well the guide stops at channel 946 nothing I repeat nothing after that.

Everyone I have spoken to about the new guide also seem to think it sux but like every thing else in this town not a da_n thing you can do about it.

  • Legion if you have the silver remote take it in and ask for the black remote it works better with the new guide. I did that today but of course now I have to look at the remote to see what I am doing at least until my hand learns the buttons.

Sugar/Pilot we have considered switching but we hate to loose signals during our rare and few storms but who knows. Right now our cabel and internet are through Suddenlink.

  • Oh, but Grifter, you CAN do something about it. DUMP the cable, and for the love of God, get DirecTV. It is the best! And no, I don't work for them. Just a loyal customer of many years who once was a DishNetwork subscriber, but saw the error of my ways. Having said that, even DishNetwork is way better than cable could ever be.

  • My box was reset a cpl months ago.

The biggest problem I had at first, and still do occasionally, is that the icons on the new guide and setup screens no longer match the ones on the remote in a lot of cases. So it takes a little guess work to figure out whats what.
