The Victoria Advocate recently published an editorial regarding the issue of a destination university and the historic meeting between Chancellors of the University of Houston and Texas A&M systems set for June. We agree with the editorial that this will continue the discussion of higher education in Victoria and enable more information on the right direction for Victoria. We applaud the Victoria Advocate on their reporting, and editorial stance regarding the expansion of higher education in Victoria. If the University if Houston system wants to keep Victoria, this is their chance. If Texas A&M wants Victoria, what’s the plan? Both university systems have their supporters and the great thing about this entire issue is that it forces all concerned with higher education to get involved. The University of Houston has served us well in the past, but this issue is about the future, not the past.

There are a growing number of supporters in Victoria for Texas A&M. See what Former Students of Texas A&M had to say about the possibility of a Victoria campus.
