Image In a throwback to the infamous Watergate burglary, The Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrested James O'Keefe, the celebrated conservative Acorn film maker. O'Keefe narrowly escaped wiretap charges for his Acorn film solely because the door was left open to the office when he posed as a pimp for a prostitute. The FBI arrested O'Keefe for plotting to wiretap Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu’s office in downtown New Orleans. O'Keefe was arrested along with four other people Monday.

FBI Special Agent Steven Rayes alleges that O’Keefe aided and abetted two others, Joseph Basel and Robert Flanagan, who dressed up as employees of a telephone company and attempted to interfere with the office’s telephone system.

It will be interesting to learn the details of this wiretap plot and who else is involved. In case you aren't old enough to remember, it was a similar affair, the burglary of the Democratic National Committee office by operatives of the Republican Committee to Re-Elect President Nixon that became know as the Watergate scandal. Past is prologue. It seems O'Keefe is just another Donald Segretti.
