Plenty of opportunities to give

Spring seems to bring out a rash of fund raising efforts and this weekend is no exception. Saturday's events include the 2nd annual Spring Fling BBQ and Chili cook-off at Colet Inn Bar and Grill. The event helps out local charities and this year the live auction also benefits Jim Scribellito, owner of Shady Oaks Speedway in Goliad who was injured in a crash at the track last August. Looking ahead to April, the calendar is full. I know I am going to leave something out, but here's a very partial list of some of the upcoming fund raisers in April: Saturday, April 3, Peeps For A Cure 5K Fun Run/Walk benefiting the American Cancer Society Friday, April 9, Fur Ball, benefiting Dorothy H. O'Connor Pet Adoption Center Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10, BBQ cook-off, benefiting Cuero Turkeyfest, Cuero Saturday, April 10, Bluebonnet Youth Ranch Golf Tournament, Yoakum Saturday, April 10, Wildflower 5k and Wildflower Bike Ride & Cycling Tour, Cuero Sunday, April 11, Bluebonnet Youth Ranch Spring Fling Benefit, Yoakum Friday, April 16, Warrior Weekend Muster Saturday, April 17, Taste of the Trail, benefiting Chisholm, Trail Heritage Museum, Cuero Friday, April 23, Top Chef competition, benefiting the Vine School Saturday, April 24, Jailbird Scholarship Softball Tournament, Cuero
