To anyone that reads my blog, I am very sorry for neglecting to write for quite some time now. I have been unfortunately very busy with my day job, and I had to take a writing hiatus. Hopefully, I can get back to a regular writing schedule.

Although today is when kids and young adults go trick-or-treating, there is an event this Friday and Saturday that are sure to be filled with just as much fun for anyone in the family. The event in question is the James Forman Memorial Benefit at Downtown Bar and Grill. The proceeds for this benefit go to one of my favorite volunteer organizations, Adopt-A-Pet.

This benefit in particular holds a special place in my heart, not only for the wonderful donation to a spectacular shelter, but I was fortunate enough to know the man that the benefit is held for.

James Forman was a very good friend to my brother, B.J. and I can remember that almost every conversation he had involved his pets. He loved is dogs and cats as though they were children and he cared greatly for them. I knew him for a good four years before he passed away, and I can remember just being in total shock. It was an unfortunate circumstance that took a toll on his family and friends.

The first year or so, the memorial benefit was just a few friends getting together and just having a good time, James was one that was all for having a good time, and it was just a nice way for friends, family, and the community to come together.

Now the event entails musical performances, and so much more. There is a Pre-show, Friady at 9 p.m.-2 a.m. Admission is $5 for over 21 and $20 for minors. They are featuring a video show with VJ Bigg Robb and performances by Ghostcall, Folly Collage, Toxic Fuse, Vincent's Betrayal.

The main event is Saturday at 5-9 p.m. Admission is $5 for all ages. They are featuring a raffle, event shirts, gift card gamble, silent auction. Performances by 24-7, Apples for Eyes, Bridge the Divide, and Popgun.

Food will be catered by Clint's South Texas Barbecue and booths by Goths N Crafts.

There will be an after Show Saturday at 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Admission is $5 for 21 or older, and $10 for minors. Featuring Danger Cakes, Los Lobos Locos, Poor Favor.

I hope I got all of the information right; and as you can see, there is so much going on at Downtown Bar and Grill this weekend! As, far as I know, tickets are still available at Adopt-A-Pet and you can purchase them at the door Friday and Saturday night.

So, if there is anyone that wants to have a good time, listen to awesome music, and help support one of Victoria's wonderful animal shelters, head out to the James Forman Memorial Benefit.
