Now that the precedent has been set to disregard Thanksgiving Day as a time for people to gather with friends and family for a meal/get-together/football watching experience and convert it into the Opening Day of Greed Season, I think that some enterprising people could do well next year to provide catered meals to those who choose to stand in line at stores to "save" money on objects they probably don't really need/want but are drawn to by hype. Since a large majority of the retail segment of Victoria is within close proximity,it wouldn't be hard to feed the crowds at the mall,Wally World, Target, etc. Think about it. Patrick Barnes

  • maybe you can make some money by selling a great spot in line to someone farther back.

  • EA, perfect idea! Popcorn and sodas it is!

PatB, naaaa, we would make them patrons too.

Tophat, then they could stop and receive the Concessional Medal of Honor and free popcorn and soda that way they use the pay-per-flush before shopping and on the way to car.

  • Good idea-
You could also sell body armor
    Bail Bonds
Issue "black heart awards" for the bravery shown to score that much needed video game.

  • Store owners/managers would probably get jealous and put the schnizel on us!

  • Jared,

Let me partner with you. We'll give away POPCORN and soda...

I mean if they will line up for three or four items at a good price, they'll gobble up the popcorn and slug back the soda. We could make a fortune as we travel the city as stores open.

  • I am with you. I am thinking of renting a port-a-can, charging per use, and handing out free soda.

Here is what I would have done if I was a store owner: hand out a new product for free, offer a service while waiting, etc. Those line standers chose to wait in front of your store and shop into the early morning. Those are the type of customers that will come back if wowed and will spread a good message.
