I read the column in the Farm&Ranch section today regarding the control of feral hogs in Goliad county and as an extension, the entire state. Did anyone figure out what you can and can't do? How many STATE agencies are involved? How many permits you need? First it says that "you can control feral hogs on your property without a hunting license". Next paragraph states"If you are hunting feral hogs for trophy or or food, trapping or setting snares,a hunting license is required". This is why I got a headache. It just got worse. It sounds like if I want to just go out and shoot a bunch of feral hogs and leave them to rot,it's OK and I don't need a license. BUT if I want to eat them,I need a license? Can anyone with experience in this help me out? I really don't want to hear a buch of bitching about government red tape, please. Patrick Barnes
