Finally Hate Mongers held accountable

AP Reports :

Glenn Beck returns to Fox News Channel on Monday after a vacation with fewer companies willing to advertise on his show than when he left, part of the fallout from calling President Barack Obama a racist.

A total of 33 Fox advertisers, including Wal-Mart Stores Inc., CVS Caremark, Clorox and Sprint, directed that their commercials not air on Beck's show

It does my heart good to see good and decent companies not wanting their good names solid by these hate and lie mongers. Don't you agree ?

  • zorro, I can't argue that your claim isn't possible, but I would like to see some proof. I'm also a skeptic of the Tea Party, perhaps for different reasons, but I haven't seen what you're describing. I don't see how being in the TP could further a violent agenda.

Like with any growing movement, provocateurs are also a possibility:

  • The Tea Party has been infiltrated by many, many unstable militia minded members. If they don't scare you, they should, because there are many Timothy Mcveigh wannabes in their ranks.

  • That should read "I'm not defending Beck..."

    April 12, 2010 at 4:10 p.m.

  • I'm defending Beck here, but you guys really need to come up with something better than "hate" as his crime. It sounds like propaganda designed by & for children.

    April 12, 2010 at 3:21 p.m.

  • I agree! Beck makes his money from hating and some people are stupid enough to buy into his CRAP!

    April 12, 2010 at 3:09 p.m.

  • Obama was a Professor? When? I thought he was a career politician just like Kennedy.

    August 29, 2009 at 11:19 p.m.

  • Beck has accused the president of being a racist, unpatriotic, a socialist, terrorist collaborator, belittled the Presidents experience as a community organizer, and despite the Presidents place of chief defender of The constitution as well as a scholar and professor of its content-- where as Beck not unlike Hitler was not a very good student. Just an observation.

  • SF, the healthcare bills were not winding there way through Congress, they were being rammed through. SF you seemed to have forgotten that HR-3200 was to be passed before the August recess - mostly unread.

Secondly the bills being considered are just outlines the real regulations will be written by bureaucrats who are not elected by anyone. The reason this stupid bill has been held up is because people, not our representatives, have raised hell about it, with good reason.

  • Gyro: I am all for Free Speech but when we enter into the arena of opinion it can be done in a civil manner like say McCain who refused to call Obama a non christian, nor a terrorist many things proclaimed by pundits. Let us limit the debate to matters of fact and not character assassination. Fact: there are a number of health care bills winding their way through various committees in both houses of congress. None of which were authored by the White House and far from finalized. When the joint committee hammers out a compromise bill for a final vote, then and only then will we know what health care will look like for the coming era of American life.

  • I disagree with Beck on a lot of things because I don't think he is a true Constitutionalists. But he does call it how he sees it and I agree that Obama and all the people he surrounds him self with are racists. Also for Joethejerk George Lopez is a racists too. As far as company's pulling advertisements from Beck's show we the people need to turn the tides, and Boycott the company's. I have not set foot in a Wal-Mart in three years and will never spend another penny in There crappy store. Wal-Mart has exploited minorities and women from their beginning but their parking lot is always full. Its funny how easily people compromise their beliefs for convenience.

  • Gentleman, Gentleman, an open and honest debate is the work of democracy. The problem only comes when positions become so harden that they are treated as divinity and not perspective. We are not the Brown shirt taking the opposition away in the middle of the night or the construction of reeducation camps type. Elections have consequences and if Government goes in a direction we do not agree with, then these are settled at the ballot box and not in acts of terrorism. Joseph Goebbels Hitlers propagandist proudly said the bigger the lie the more likely the common person will believe it as they have no idea why they believe the way do. So if Sarah Palin lies and says there are death panels Beck sheep believe. If Birthers claim the President is of foreign birth simpletons accept. And when a country singer proclaims some idiot sentiment that holds nothing in fact like -- we need to drill here, the ignorant are ready to open the flood gates to profit a very few by decimating public lands to yield only a tiny percent of the nations needs.

  • The point is to have the herd mesmerized although, no small doing, it can be done for good or evil. We Liberals evil agenda includes educating the masses and making necessary health care available for all. We appreciate our captains of industry without whom we would be just another face in the global crowd. Germany which is so small that it could fit into Texas several times over also produced a navy, air force, and Panther divisions that gave Africa, Europe, The Americas, and the Eastern front a run for their money. We for just a few defectors from Germany were able to develop nuclear technologies, a space program, and promote jet engine technology. But this is the Magic of these United States is that we embrace the best of the globes offering an integrates them into the fabric of our society. Even those who pick produce or wash dishes contribute to the whole. If we were to have not allowed immigrants from Germany out of some paranoid or excluded them because of the few bad apples who caused us problems inside our borders we would not have benefited from the genius of Eisenstein, and Wernher Magnus Maximilian Freiherr.

  • Hitler had large numbers of mindless drones also adoring every bit of his hate speech. Hitler blamed foreigners for all of his peoples suffering. And felt purity of his people was the answer to all wrongs. Beck were is your little mustaches ?

  • Glen Beck has been concentrating on Van Jones, the "Green Energy Czar" and advisor to President Obama. Mr. Jones claims he was converted to communism while he was in prison. He was imprisoned because he was involved in the Roddy King riot. Later he was sent to prison again because of involvement in the WTO riots in Oregon.

After his conversion he founded several radical groups including the "Color of Change." This is the group leading the advertising boycott against Glen Beck. Mr Jones claims that he no longer belongs to that group - maybe so, but I would bet he has friends who do belong. These ACORN like groups are experienced at intimidating corporations.

There are other radicals in the Obama administration, radicals like Mark Lloyd another self proclaimed communist. Mr. Lloyd is the "Communications Czar" and an admirer of Hugo Chavez. He said he admires how Hugo got control of all the public broadcasting in Venezula. Mr. Lloyd says that's what he wants to do in the US to increase "diversity" and "fairness" - hmmmm!

That's 46 sponsors that have dropped out...More coming...That's the free-market,they decide what is trash and what will increse their bottom line.

  • 100% agreement.
Beck is delusional and deserved his suspension.
It was really good to see companies listening to their customers. I'm glad they quit advertising cuz it was hard to not buy Sargento cheese and stay out of Walmart. :-)

    August 28, 2009 at 8:02 a.m.

  • J.."I wish I could appear on the Glenn Beck program."

Well, J, you never know. Just write him in the style to which we've all become accustomed and ask for the opportunity to visit with him on his program. He might invite you to tell your side.

    August 28, 2009 at 7:24 a.m.

  • I wish that I could boycott the companys who pulled their ads!

    August 28, 2009 at 6:06 a.m.

  • I support health care reform, but not censorship.

Beck is not telling people anything that they do not already believe, plain and simple. As much as elitist want to blame a single individual for the perception of others, they can't; unless they want to be delusional. Whether for the wrong or right, people feel as they do; without being coerced.

In fact, these acts indicate a more sophisticated level of coercion; sublimed or not. If this man's right to be critical of his leaders is abridged or subversed, what does that indicate to other Americans.

"I may not agree with you, I may be down right against you; but I will respect and die to defend your right to free speech." - john

We can argue and exchange fighting words; but all should be treated equally, that is American.

    August 25, 2009 at 8:04 a.m.

  • No, I don't agree.

    August 25, 2009 at 7:29 a.m.

  • Hate is exatly what it is.Maybe he wont hurt too much, but you cant tell me that fox wants to be in that negative light. When you are a smart man like Glen Beck ,people do listen and you will develop a fan base. He may have over two million viewers. But when big corporations start to shy away from you,the rest of the population takes notice . When they take notice and realize his hate then he will be affected. As George Lopez said in 5 years when Latinos are the MAJORITY we will treat you with the same RESPECT and DIGNITY you showed us,so please, please have your license and registration ready. Oh yeah and proof of citizenship!!

    August 25, 2009 at 7:17 a.m.

  • Glen Beck's presentation is so emotional, extreme and angry that his message is lost entirely. I wouldn't want him on the democratic side, either. This is the "entertainment" value of his show. Remember, this is television, rationality is rare.

    August 25, 2009 at 5:45 a.m.

  • Yes because he's crazy!

    August 25, 2009 at 2:05 a.m.

  • Keep in mind, Beck had this vacation scheduled for months. Any attempt to make it seem like Fox was sitting him down because of his comments is them just trying to give the illusion they have him on a leash. This is bad for him in the short term, but it'll blow over and the advertisers will come back. Whether this is good or bad I'll leave to the individual reader.

    August 25, 2009 at 12:17 a.m.

  • No, it is not hate mongers....Walmart wants to dump the employees into government insurance --they do not want to cover their employees. They lost a federal lawsuit a few years back and had to start paying for employee insurance. It is follow the money.

Glenn Beck has not been afraid to reveal facts about relationships in this government that was suppose to be transparent. There has been no transparency at all.

But I would bet my last dollar that if it were another president in the whitehouse, he would be a watchdog for them also.

So instead of kicking him, maybe you out to think about what he is really showing us. So what if the the sponsors pull back, the number of viewers is increasing.

Glenn is flamboyant, but cut that away and look at what he has found out. I am po'd about all the waste, the closing of car dealerships where owners did not give money to Obama's campaign. Did you know that is why the Police in Houston are not receiving a special stimulous package?

What a president....if you don't vote for me, I will starve your family and let you loose your home because the county total was voted republican versus democrat. Oh yes, that is really someone to be proud of...Tell me who is really the hate monger and the great punisher? Why is he punishing those children who will not live in the families where the fathers will not receive raises? What did those children ever do to Obama?

Sometimes it amazes me what we take glee in, seeing our friends and neighbors loose everything just so we can be right.
