The Children’s House

The yearly and wonderful production of “The Nutcracker” was performed yesterday. Mine was a mouse and then an Arabian dancer. I think the dancer was supposed to be two girls but one didn’t show up. Great job kids!

Daily Roman Missal

With this new Mass translation in effect, I finally ordered my own “Daily Roman Missal.” I had been wanting one for a long time, but realized a new translation was in the works. As time moves slower in the Vatican, I waited years to buy my copy. Well, it arrived last night via UPS at 8:00 p.m. The late ring of the doorbell really caused much excitement in the house. Anyways, here is a link if you are interested in a copy.

Wife and children

I need tons of work to be a better husband and father. The recent horror in Bay City has left me wanting to be ever more intentional and present to my wife and kids.

“Bless us, O Lord…”

Part of our new Advent practice, my wife and I have added a family decade of the Rosary. So there we were on our way to eat at La Hacienda last night just starting our prayer and our youngest wanted to lead. Instead of the first “Hail Mary,” the kiddo says, “Bless us, O Lord and these Thy gifts…” Of course we all chimed in and congratulated his great recitation.

Stretch those cords Carols and lights tonight for “Christmas on the Square.” Music, cheer, and lights are good ways to de-stress from the hustle and bustle. Tonight, downtown, 6 pm-9pm.

Friends and family

Enjoy them.
