There was standing room only at my parish this past Sunday. I think it was over 30 kids dressed in Sunday best knelt down to receive Holy Communion for the first time in their life.

Father Bob presented a wonderful homily that touched upon belief in things that cannot be perceived with the senses. St. Thomas made similar comments in a prayer he composed, the Tantum Ergo Sacramentum:

“Down in adoration falling, Lo! the sacred Host we hail; Lo! o'er ancient forms departing, newer rites of grace prevail; faith for all defects supplying, where the feeble senses fail. To the everlasting Father, and the Son who reigns on high, with the Holy Ghost proceeding forth from Each eternally, be salvation, honor, blessing, might and endless majesty. Amen”

And so it is that my “Lord’s possession” received Dominus.
