Wow. What a Superbowl huh? Great game. Great plays. Great ending. Enough of that.
I am getting close to finishing one of the best books on Christian marriage I have read. Being written post “Theology of Body” and other Bl. John Paul II works, much of it is based on personalism. I highly recommend “Covenanted Happiness” by Cormac Burke.
I have been doing some background research when I can on Frederic Bastiat; has anybody read “The Law”? It is a shorter book, but sounds like it influenced a number of writers on liberty and freedom.
Anyways, it is pretty cheap too. Here is the Amazon if you are interested.

PatB, The book is really good, and doesn't really go into Catholic stuff so much other than divorce.
Brown's book isn't based on truth. Some things are accurate, but it is a fictional story.

February 7, 2012 at 7:15 a.m.BUT Christians aren't always Catholics. And a book written by an Irish-Cathoilc Msgr from Opus Dei would be a tough read for regular people. I remember how single-minded the Irish-Catholic priests and nuns were wwhen i went to Catholic school for twelve years in Louisiana. How do you know that it was fiction? The Catholic Church is a very secretive organization.

PatB, Catholics are Christian. "The Da Vinci Code" is a mystery drama piece of fiction; Opus Dei doesn't even have monks.
MaryAnn, ;)
February 6, 2012 at 4:11 p.m.To be specific, since the authors title is Msgr.,this book is about Catholic marriage more than anything simple Christian marriage. Copied from Jared link:Msgr. Cormac Burke was born in Ireland and is a priest of the Prelature of Opus Dei. Remamber Opus Dei from the DaVinci Dode?

Thanks for the book recommendation, Jared. I'm working my way through St. Catherine's Dialogues right now, and it's going to take me a while. I do appreciate you throwing out the titles, though. I keep them in mind.
