Tea Party protest taxation without representation, Iran fighting false representation, Honduras fighting for constitutional representation
“No man is an Island, but all have a right to self-determination.” – john
As a country we have learned through the wars fought since 9/11 most bitterly the lesson, “doing nothing, does not alleviate us of the consequences of wrong decisions, made by our government”. Pointing fingers and engaging in partisan politics, does no justice to the lives lost!
The past is history and should only serve to make us aware of our own foolishness or error in judgment. Those who take the lesson learned only to strengthen the bridges of division build to nothing!
On twitter have sought to spark interest in these three areas, because all are a variation of the same problem, “failure in government”. Despite our differences; all of us face a common purpose, the fulfillment of governments obligation to its people. We struggle in different areas, but our struggle is of “human suffrage”.
People have a right to be reasonably taxed and demand responsible allocation of tax revenue to ensure domestic peace and prosperity.
People have a right to just government and a system of government free of rampant corruption.
People have a right to demand from their leaders adherence to their constitution and to respect the “rule of law” over “mob rule”.
It is time for government to be held accountable and act responsibly, as President Obama has said, “If not now then when”.
In the United States, yes we can have taxation with representation. In Iran, yes we can have legal representation. In Honduras, yes we can have respect for constitutional law.
This is just my opinion.
