Observations, concerns, questions and quips!

I noticed it snowed this morning. Interesting, since Al Gore says we’re in the midst of global warming and our president is promoting an international treaty committing this country to a climate initiative! A passage of the Cap & Trade bill will destroy American business and industry. It will put a $100 per month tax on my mother’s electricity bill and all of this on a thoroughly debunked hoax!

I was out in the orchard today picking pecans. I have a good crop but I need to pick every day to keep the deer and squirrels from eating me out of house and home. My crop is very important to me but killing a deer eating it can land me in jail. There’s something very sick about that! My crop, the food produced and the income it generates is less important than a disease carrying varmint! In the end, it’s all about the money! The state makes money off game animals. An incredible amount of money and what happens to me or any other farmer is irrelevant!

I have learned that when you mulch just about any tree but especially citrus it’s necessary that no mulch touch the trunk. I put a donut of mulch and make sure to come back in a few months and pull it back after it settles in.

I mixed mulch yesterday! Some really rich stuff! Coffee grounds, urea, fireplace ash, liquid seaweed and some stuff I got from Earth Works called “Rocket Fuel.” The trees love it!

It seems to me the God created each of us with a certain amount of common sense. As we grow and learn we add to that and hopefully by the time we are grown we will have enough sense to come in out of the rain! However, I see today in higher education an effort to explain away common sense as non-sense. Case in point: there was a very expensive effort by the federal government, at literally thousands of dollars per animal, to repopulate the black bear right up to the city limits of the state capitol! Since that time there have been numerous deaths from encounters with black bears. So the importance of saving an animal’s habitat was more important than the safety of man! It was college educated and trained individuals that thought up and carried out this insanity! Common sense had nothing to do with it. So! Where did the common sense of these people go? Was it educated away? Is this what we call “higher education?” I find it interesting also that a member of congress recently said he would support Obamacare even if it meant his re-election to office was history! Anyone still grasp the obviously outdated concept of “elected representative of the people?”

I spent the day today working on trees, picking pecans and cleaning the place up a bit. I hate foot neuropathy! I thought when I lost 160 pound that would go away. Hmmm! The doctor says it will take a while. Blast!

Let me see! There was Harry Reid today on the floor of the senate equating those opposed to Obamacare with those who supported slavery! Chuckle! Does this ditzy old buffoon not recall it was the democrats who supported slavery? And this college educated individual is a senior senator and senate majority leader? Perhaps a refresher course in American history at city college for the esteemed senator?

Well, despite the lowest Gallup polls in history for any president in his first year, Barak Obama is still promoting the global warming hoax and still trying to take over the health care system. The arrogance of this self-described “gifted” leader seems to know no bounds!

It seems we have children at play in the White House. The Obama social secretary has spoken now of allowing uninvited guests in other events she has planned! Chuckle! And Mr. Obama told us to judge him by the people around him!

Anyone catch Lindsey Graham’s examination of AG Eric Holder last week? It seems like it’s “children at play” in the AG’s office too. I think the count is close to seventeen in Holder’s staff who have had to recuse themselves because they had represented Muslim terrorists!

Our nation is in a growing turmoil and it’s “children at play” in Washington!

I have some questions no one seems to be able to answer to my satisfaction; While we were all being directed to the AIG bonus scandal last March, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke ordered $1.2 trillion in new currency printed up. So what nation in history has ever magnetized it’s debt by printing money and not suffered hyperinflation? And how would Bernanke “tighten up on the money supply?” Perhaps rob banks of their currency? This week in Copenhagen students from the United States shouted down a speaker that disagreed with the idea of global warming! Students from a country where the free exchange of ideas was made great-where freedom of speech is paramount shouted down someone they disagreed with! What does that say about the United States? What does that say about the sad, sick teachers and professors responsible for the education of these children? What, indeed, does this say about the parents of these children? Hmmm! Is this speaking “negative?” Or is this just pointing out what’s wrong and should be fixed? Chuckle! And I didn’t even mention that these “students” were defending a well-debunked hoax!

You can contact these “students” at agents@sustainus.org They were appropriately described as “Hitler Youth” by one attendee!

Oh yeah, while we’re on the subject of compost, I like to pick up leaves and grass clippings left at the curb in Victoria. Some of it goes directly on the compost with some manure and table scraps and the rest are turned under with a disc in the orchards. This helps the ground retain more moisture and I get to use less very expensive fertilizer! Yipee!

  • And then there's this:

Kind of confusing, all this sounds like we should, maybe wait before we jump through our $$$ to pass cap and trade and screw up our entire economy.

  • Hole in ozone layer has shielded most of Antarctica from global warming

The ozone hole has delayed the impact of greenhouse gas increases on the climate of the continent. Consequently south polar winds (the polar vortex), have intensified and affected Antarctic weather patterns. Westerly winds over the Southern Ocean that surrounds Antarctica have increased by around 15%. The stronger winds have effectively isolated Antarctica from the warming elsewhere on the planet. As a result during the past 30 years there has been little change in surface temperature over much of the vast Antarctic continent, although West Antarctica has warmed slightly. An important exception is the eastern coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, which has seen rapid summer warming. This warming is caused by stronger westerly winds bringing warm, wet air into the region from the ocean.

10% increase in sea ice around the Antarctic

Since 1980 there has been a 10% increase in Antarctic sea ice extent, particularly in the Ross Sea region, as a result of the stronger winds around the continent (due to the ozone hole). In contrast, regional sea ice has decreased west of the Antarctic Peninsula due to changes in local atmospheric circulation and this has also been linked with the very rapid warming seen over land on the west coast of the Peninsula.

Yeah that's a head scratcher, less ice in one part, more in the other.

  • KS, the ozone hole causes more heat to enter the lower atmosphere and causes it to heat up not cool down. This is just another conundrum of the climate theory.

Secondly, I said ACORN would receive five billion of our dollars. That may have been in error. They will be "eligible" to get that cash along with many other "community" organizations. It all depends on the if's, and's, and but's in the stimulus package, a package that few have read. In any case it is just more money poured down the drain, but don't worry we can print up that amount of money in a jiffy, with no sweat at all.

  • Better quit breathing Kenneth. You are expelling illegal stuff now.

Wish they would learn the difference between carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

  • Ken you forgot to mention the court case in New Orleans between ACORN and The United States Congress. Congress lost. It seems that Congress violated the constitution by denying funding of ACORN because of the recent revelations that they supported underage prostitution - hmmmm, go figure.

Congress passed what has been falsely construed as a bill of attainer, a bill that punishes someone without due process. So it appears now that anyone receiving funds from the government can never be denied those funds - how did we get here?

Never mind that ACORN has tax exempt status as a non-political charity organization. Yes that's right non-political. I guess all those ACORN signs with Obama's picture on them are not considered political. BTW ACORN is scheduled to get five billion dollars in stimulus money - to create jobs of course :)

And here is more cheery news, I read that the deficits we are now incurring are at the point of no return. That is there is no way to pay for them without monetizing the debt - that is printing money. And secondly so many people are now dependent on the government there is little chance of reining in the spending.

As someone once said, "Tell me where this ends."
