Hmmm! An Inspector General's report by Neil Barofsky confirms that Ben Bernanke and Henry Paulson were wrong on their assessment on the soundness of up to ten banks that got TARP money. Could that be because bank examiners were either incompetent or lying? Were these the same regulators who bullied and threatened banks who refused to take TARP money? Seems to me that since it's our money we should know!
White House staffer, Susan Crawford, with known ties to ACORN, seems to have teamed up with Robert McChesney and the regulators at the FCC in order to begin steps to control the internet!
So the Obama Administration wants to control the internet? Hmmm! Sounds like Communist China! Or perhaps Fascist Venezuela!
"Not surprisingly, listed alongside on the OneWebDay participating organizations list is a group called Free Press, which is the biggest advocacy organization pushing the Obama administration to adopt sweeping regulations of the Internet.
Free Press was founded by Robert McChesney, an avowed Marxist who is Washington’s leading advocate of so-called network neutrality regulations who recently argued—on a Web site called SocialistProject.ca—that this type of Internet regulation is a prerequisite for a socialist revolution: 'Instead of waiting for the revolution to happen, we learned that unless you make significant changes in the media, it will be vastly more difficult to have a revolution.'" Phil Kerpen
"network neutrality regulations?" Big brother grows larger every day! And since our omnipotent grand potentate has said he "would not take a back seat to anyone on his commitment to net neutrality" I can only assume this comes from the top!
Didn't Mr. Obama fire the last commanding general in Afganistan after only a year? And now, as our troops are in more danger, he's waffleing on sending the troops needed to get the job done?
Worse yet, both democrats and republican politicians have siphoned off $179 million needed for logistical support for our troops and spent it in their own districts for such things as videos from our troops to their home communities! Horsewhipping is too good for this scum on both sides of the isle!
John McCain! Please keep your ignorant mouth shut! If I recall correctly you were a fighter pilot? Your inferrence that U.S. troops shouldn't shut down the borders with Pakistan and Iran and fight from there shows your ignorance! Was that not one of our mistakes in Vietnam? Are we going to continue to allow arms, explosives, materials and new terrorists to come across those borders to kill our troops! Zip it! Idiot!
Iran threatens Israel then quiets down and plays nice. Then they're at it again! And now we find they were lying all along and today they're playing nice again! Doesn't over 1000 years of Muslim custom not come to mind or is the rest of the world and especially the U.N. just stupid?
Headline: "Amid growing unemploymet, good jobs go unfilled!" No surprise here! From craftsmen to engineers there are jobs out there! One job in Victoria, just completed was built by almost 90% illegal immigrants! Craftsmen and tradesmen. All making relatively good wages. So what do we do? Round them all up and send them back to whereever they came from? Hmmm! That's an idea but then who'd build the project? We've taught three generations of kids that sweating and getting their hands dirty to build something in a trade or craft is a bad thing! Shoot, most young people today don't even know HOW to work! The only solution would cause rioting in the streets! Close the broders. Round up the illegals, ship them home, cut welfare by 95% and FORCE people to work for a living! This was tried in the early 80s in a program called "workfare" and was labeled "slavery" by recipients! However, then not much would be built because Basketweaving 101 and women's studies 102 don't provide much help to an ignorant workforce!
Headline: "NYC mom slashes own baby's throat!" Happening more every day! We have cheapened life! No surprise here! Solution: after she's been convicted, hang her in Central Park! Leave her there until she rots!
Headline: "Funding cuts threaten U.S. nursing homes!" Again, we've cheapened life! Hilary Clinton said Social Security money should be spent on "more productive" members of our society and we see now that Mr. Obama agrees! I predicted this long before anyone knew who Barak Obama was! Chuckle! And we really still don't know! One solution: put every congressman and senator on the same benefits as the average SS recipient and the same Medicare plan. Pour the savings into SS and Medicare! That would be a start!
It would be funny if it wasn't so sad! More people have lost their homes to yet another California wildfire! I have a solution! Gather up gang members and environmentalists and put them on chain gangs and have them cut firebreaks and clear deadfalls and underbrush!
Man oh man! I enjoyed this!

"Now the EPA has declared CO2 is a pollutant and all the emission laws for emitting any pollutant apply."
Well to start with they could reduce the amount of C02 emitted during countless congressional hearings.
Maybe that is the problem, all the talk going on, so thus more C02 emitted, so thus less 02 in congressional chambers. They need a air monitor in congress, IMO some of them get light headed due to lack of oxygen.
October 7, 2009 at 7:14 p.m.Where there's smoke there is usually fire. The Obama administration seems to be surrounded by more than a few radical Marxist and socialist.
Mark Lloyd, the Communications Czar praises Chavez. Then there is the head of Free Press, Robert McChesney proclaiming his socialist, Marxist ideology - it's all caught on tape, comments they made within this past year. Free Press is advising the administration on internet regulation - scares the hell out of me.
Obama says he didn't know ACORN was getting federal money - come on we are not that stupid, are we?
Now the EPA has declared CO2 is a pollutant and all the emission laws for emitting any pollutant apply. This has thrown a monkey wrench into this issue. The potential to destroy many industries is huge - I guess we don't need those stinking jobs.
And now details of the health care bill are coming out. Our government is going to micro-manage the pay that doctors are going to receive. GP's will get more and specialists will get less, much less - just don't have heart trouble or get cancer, that's all and if you do die quickly and be a sport about it :(
October 7, 2009 at 7 p.m.Kenneth: "White House staffer, Susan Crawford, with known ties to ACORN, seems to have teamed up with Robert McChesney and the regulators at the FCC in order to begin steps to control the internet."
Since you represent that this statement is fact, let's break it down.
"White House staffer, Susan Crawford, with known ties to ACORN" What are the ties between Ms. Crawford and ACORN? Please cite specific items.
"seems to have teamed up with Robert McChesney and the regulators at the FCC" Seems to? Is that your opinion or the opinion of Fox News, et al? Has she or hasn't she? What action has Ms. Crawford taken which lead you to believe she has teamed up with anyone on anything? And specifcally, which FCC regulators are involved? What are their names? I'd like to have FACTS not generalities.
"in order to begin steps to control the internet." Is this a fact or is this what you speculate their purpose to be? Or is this what right-wing talk radio told you was their intent? How can you be sure? Did they put out a press release announcing their intent? And what does it mean to "begin steps"? Have they actually done anything to take over the internet? If so, what steps have they taken?
You continually claim that you are stating fact but this whole paragraph is nothing more than opinion, either yours or someone else's, which you then regurgitate as FACT sprinkled with vague information and veiled accusations of wrongdoing.
Please don't demand that I chase down your rabbit trails trying to disprove your bulls**t. If you have answers to the questions I've asked then provide the information. Otherwise, admit that this is your opinion and NOT fact.
October 7, 2009 at 2:25 p.m.Uff, ever thought about getting anger management? Although sometimes agreed with you, sometimes you go to the extremes. However, do keep it up, at least you get a chance to enjoy your retirement.
October 6, 2009 at 11:16 p.m.ed, as I was reading your first post, I was thinking you were drinking the Koolaid....and what is with Koolaid? It's a kids sugared drink.
ed, I know all about what is happening and it didn't just now start with the election of President Obama. Neither party is going to be willing to stop what is happening in fear that it will hurt them in the next election.
October 6, 2009 at 10:12 p.m.Take back America? The government is not going to do it for us. It's going to be up to us...you and me. We the people, are going to have to stand up and say enough is enough. Are you up to organizing country-wide protest marches?
I know several business men who get no one to do work other than immigrants with green cards - that's a fact.
And Onslow you're right Bush screwed up he did not control spending, but Obama, well he is in a class all by himself - it's insanity.
And yes we do have unemployment and I stated the reason. So what are we doing? We are doing more, of the same reckless spending, entitlements and just plain goofy things like cash for clunkers - I fear for the country, I fear for my grandkids. We are leaving them in a terrible situation.
Suzy and Onslow put down the Kool Aid just for a few seconds and think about what is being done to our country - it was mankinds greatest hope, I'm not sure if it still is.
October 6, 2009 at 7:46 p.m.rollinstone: "We have high unemployment now because of stupid government programs that produced a recession, poverty and misery - a great job by a bunch of pompous, condescending, narcissistic, bloviating, lying, theiving, a$$holes."
You're being kind of rough on the Bush administration aren't you?
October 6, 2009 at 6:55 p.m.I don't see a problem with it either, unfortunately, jobs would have to be opened up to do it and that would mean jobs that are given to illegal aliens would have to be taken.
October 6, 2009 at 6:18 p.m."Work so many hours a week to get your benefits? Hmmmm....."
October 6, 2009 at 6:14 p.m.I see no problem in this. You have to work at your job to get their benefits.
My question remains. Work where? You say they are too lazy to work, but if they got "unlazy" all of a sudden, where would they work? Try to comprehend how many there are and what unemployment is right now.
And, immigrants do not have jobs that Americans will not do. That has been proven false in the majority of the cases.
October 6, 2009 at 4:49 p.m.47 % of Americans pay no taxes.
October 6, 2009 at 3:49 p.m.I was in a callous way commenting how the welfare state reduces the incentive to find employment. A good example is the minimum wage that has the perverse result of creating unemployment and it also denies people the earned income tax credit - increasing their poverty.
The immigrants coming to this country are doing jobs that our citizens refuse to do, I doubt they are stealing anyone's job as you imply. The welfare state produces more poverty and lowers everyone's standard of living - apparently this is what you and other liberals want.
October 6, 2009 at 3:48 p.m.work where?
October 6, 2009 at 3:09 p.m.Do we kick all the immigrants out and make those people work those jobs...something like community service. Work so many hours a week to get your benefits? Hmmmm.......
The $31,000 annual income for the bottom 50% is the "adjusted gross income." This is the income after the deductions for dependents and other things and before the "earned income tax credit" and now for the "make work pay credit." In addition there is free medical care under Medicaid and food stamps and other forms of assistance - why work?
October 6, 2009 at 2:50 p.m.OK, I stand corrected. The chart I was thinking about said that 50% of taxpayers earned less than $30,881, and that is just those who filled out tax returns. $30,881 per household isn't that much in today's economy. Not much buying power there.
October 6, 2009 at 12:54 p.m.Accrding to the census bureau 13% of the population was below the poverty level - not 50% a ridiculous number. It's amazing the poverty level isn't higher considering a high school drop out rate of about 40% and all the single parent households - who's fault is that?
People in Latin American and Africa would feel fortunate to live in "poverty" in this country. That's why people are clamoring to get in here at least they were. I read where an illegal turn himself in to get deported back to Mexico because he couldn't find work here.
We have high unemployment now because of stupid government programs that produced a recession, poverty and misery - a great job by a bunch of pompous, condescending, narcissistic, bloviating, lying, thieving, a$$holes.
October 6, 2009 at 12:23 p.m.ed, I have 4 American-made Fords (just scrapped the 5th), bought a Riccar vacuum cleaner, and try my best to support American jobs. I do research before I buy any major appliance. I've even ordered a stove because I couldn't find what I wanted locally.
October 6, 2009 at 10:07 a.m.Sometimes it is not possible to buy American, but when I can, I do.
BTW ed, 50% of Americans live below the poverty level. They are not all unemployed or on disability
I read that when you take taxes and benefits into account 30% have a net outflow to the government and the rest, 70% have a net inflow - this is not sustainable.
I think as a nation there is not much time left - we are in the two minute warning. Our way of life is being rapidly transformed. I suggest we never vote for incumbent even if the incumbent says the right things - they are not fighting or yelling loud enough.
The federal government is completely out of control. Listen to what this congressman says about the pending health care reform bill.
http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/5...
They can't even understand what they are voting on - THEN STOP, DON't DO IT!!!!! You can not run a country by micro-managing every detail of a person's life - it is a fool's errand.
October 6, 2009 at 9:27 a.m.Central planning ALWAYS fails. It's entertaining yet scary that partisan hacks think their versions of central planning will somehow be immune to the Laws of Economics. Unfortunately, their may already be a critical mass of institutionalized voters ready to destroy what's left of our free society.
Freedom = Personal AND Economic Liberty
October 6, 2009 at 9:23 a.m.Unless you mean pop"sicle."
October 6, 2009 at 9:13 a.m."Sickle" Not "sicle."
October 6, 2009 at 9:12 a.m.50% of people are on unemployment or disability. To be on unemployment, you would have had to lose a job. Getting disability is not easy, I know. When my brother-in-law tried after hurting his neck and almost going blind, he was turned down 3 times. He finally committed suicide because he couldn't support his family and knew that his wife and children would get something if he was dead.
October 6, 2009 at 9 a.m.Where are these 50% of American's going to find jobs when unemployment is almost 10%?
ed, your numbers don't add up. the reason that so many are on public aid is because the jobs went overseas and Americans are not smart enough to buy American products and force the companies to bring the jobs home. Are you part of the problem ed?
Kenneth, I once again laughed a lot at the truths of your good old common sense. I laughed because I just refuse to cry. As this baby boomer generation ages we have become wise in our assessments. We created this mess back in the 60's, but we forgot to teach our kids how to clean up the mess. I remember when one of my many nephews at the ripe old age of 23 hurt his back at work and wanted a doctor to get him social security disability. The doctor said absolutely not. You are young, learn a new trade. If I had known the doctor, I would have kissed him. The same nephew has a really nice career in a new field. Unfortunately, my mother was the enabler from the getgo, always bailing the nephew's mother out, loaning money that she now needs in her old age, buying cars, buying modest houses so her grandbabies would have a roof over their heads. I have warned her that if she tries even one more time to enable irresponsibility, I will declare her for her own protection. I have the power of attorney to do so now. I sent a scalding letter to all the 3rd generation relatives and reminded them to suck it up and start saving just like my mom did, or I would handle their actions legally. So far, so good, and the enabler is finally enjoying some of her hard earned money. Yep, we argue politics constantly in my household.
