I notice a greater effort of the extreme left to silence any opposition or anyone who actually seeks the truth about any matter whatsoever!

To rebut Gore, filmmakers go grass roots

Unable to get Hollywood studio backing for their new documentary, "Not Evil Just Wrong" - an answer to Al Gore's climate-change lecture "An Inconvenient Truth" - husband-and-wife filmmakers Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney have taken matters into their own hands.

Hoping to tap the surge of populist anger and activism on the right, they are bypassing traditional distribution avenues and bringing their film directly to motivated audiences through "cinematic tea parties," their term for the patchwork of grass-roots screenings in living rooms, campus auditoriums and rented theaters across the country that they have scheduled for Oct. 18.

Mr. McAleer and Ms. McElhinney are part of a new breed of guerrilla documentarians across the political spectrum. Taking advantage of cheaper, more accessible video-production technology and innovative, Internet-based direct marketing and distribution techniques, they are assembling new audiences for their films from the ground up - without the studio middlemen.

The average documentary is never seen by audiences outside of film festivals: Because of advertising, theater rentals and print costs, the price of putting movies in front of audiences across the country is prohibitive, and documentaries in particular are widely viewed as box-office poison.

Even the exception to the rule, Michael Moore, is coming to be seen as a one-hit wonder. His most recent film, "Capitalism: A Love Story," tanked at the box office when it hit wide release, and his previous release, "Sicko," failed to gross his reported salary of $25 million.

"If you don't have $10 million, if you don't have a studio behind you or a massive budget behind you, it just can't be done," Mr. McAleer said of a wide release. It doesn't help that the sort of picture that he and his wife are selling - an expose of the negative consequences of drastic carbon reduction that questions the conventional wisdom regarding climate change - is political anathema to most of Hollywood.

"No big studio would come behind us, even though the film has very high production values," Mr. McAleer said.

Effectively denied a theatrical release, the filmmakers have chosen a more direct approach: cinematic tea parties.

The filmmakers have offered the organizers of the screening with the highest attendance a trip to their native Ireland. A $500 prize is awarded for the screening with the "most original" theme.

Visitors to their Web site can pick up single DVDs for $19.99 or "premiere party packs" for $10 more; the party packs will include a poster, invitations and a piece of red carpet."

Global Warming:

A common sense look at nonsense!

According to a www.ScienceClarified.com informative article on alternative energy, “Controlled nuclear fusion is believed by many scientists to be the ultimate solution to the world’s energy problems.”

However, many have opposed nuclear energy because of the relatively miniscule amount of radioactive waste the process produces. This in spite of the fact that, “Energy Secretary Samuel Bodeman, in a November 9, 2007, letter to National Academy of Sciences President Ralph Ciccerone, said many nations with nuclear energy technology are committed to moving forward with used fuel processing.” At a recent meeting of sixteen nations, “It was evident that a growing international consensus exists that supports urgently moving forward to develop the political and technical framework for closing the nuclear fuel cycle,” Bodeman said.

Now, let us sit back and realize that in spite of the bright prospects of recycling spent nuclear fuel, the fact that nuclear energy produces no (that’s ZERO) greenhouse gasses and the fact that new Generation III nuclear reactors are safer, more efficient and use less uranium fuel, extremist environmentalists still viciously attack nuclear power!

This is what leads me into this expose’ on global warming! Everywhere I look today I see the interestingly errant science of global warming preached almost like it’s a religion! Those scientists and researchers who have dared step out of the crowd of lemmings have been labeled paid agents of ExxonMobile.

According to an April 4, 2008 article by NPR staff writer, Richard Harris (definitely NOT a paid agent of ExxonMobile), entitled The Mystery of Global Warming’s Missing Heat, “…80 to 90% of global warming involves heating of the ocean’s waters.”

According to Harris’ article, “Some 3,000 scientific robots that are plying the ocean have sent home a puzzling message. These diving instruments suggest that the oceans have not warmed up at all in the past four or five years.”

Is this correct? A major tenet on which the theory of global warming is based has been challenged by, not ExxonMobile or their paid off scientists, but by a decidedly sold out promoter of global warming! And admitted to, on a decidedly sold out on global warming media venue: NPR! How can this be?

Harris went on to quote Josh Willis of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (as far as I recall NASA is not a wholly owned subsidiary of ExxonMobile), NASA has been studying the instrument findings. “The Argo System robotic buoys can dive 3,000 feet down and measure ocean temperature. Since the system was deployed in 2003, it has recorded no warming of the global oceans.” Hmmm! “…no warming of the global oceans!” All 3,000 instruments gave the same basic readings! (A deduction on my part since anomalous readings would have prompted a different article altogether.)

Willis said, “Sea level rises when the oceans get warm because water expands. So with the oceans not warming, you would expect to see less sea level rise. Instead the sea level has risen about ½ inch in the last four years.” Indeed, according to the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) “the average sea level rise between 1961 and 2003 was only 0.007 of 1 inch!” Hmmm! I don’t think we’ll be taking a gondola to the top of the Empire State Building any time soon at that rate!

“But in fact,” Willis said, “there’s a little bit of a mystery. We can’t account for all the sea level increase we’ve seen over the last four years. One possibility is that the sea has, in fact, warmed and expanded and scientists are somehow misinterpreting the data from the diving buoys. But if the aquatic buoys are telling the right story that raises a new question: Where is the extra heat going?”

So the oceans are expanding and have risen ½ inch but 3,000 scientific instruments say the oceans are not warming!

So Kevin Trenberth, of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (again, definitely not a paid subsidiary of ExxonMobile) says it’s probably going back out into space.”

Ah, excuse me! Pardon me! Time out, please! “…going back out into space?” Let me see, the global warming promoters have been telling us for years about our “carbon footprint” and that man is causing a layer of carbon dioxide to form trapping heat and causing everything from pimples to palpitations and now we are told by the same bunch, when they come up missing the actual heat, that it’s escaping out into space? Pardon my incredulity but something smells here!

Let’s back up here just a moment. Weren’t we told that chlorofluorocarbons were eating away at the ozone layer allowing in harmful radiation? If the “hole in the ozone layer” is allowing in radiation would it not allow heat radiation to escape? And then what about this new thick layer of carbon dioxide holding heat in? Can someone please talk out of only one side of his mouth at a time?

Were not entire new state bureaucracies brought into existence to regulate the air conditioning and refrigeration industry at a cost of billions of added costs to the taxpayer and consumers? All predicated on the idea that two heavier than air gasses can magically travel miles into the ozone layer and destroy it?

Trenberth said, “The earth has a number of natural thermostats, including clouds which can either trap heat and turn up the temperature, or reflect sunlight and help cool the planet.” Oops! Another conundrum? If the ice caps are melting from global warming caused by the oceans warming caused by carbon emissions, then we are missing not only some heat but a lot of water too! Since water evaporates and becomes clouds, according to the polar ice melt the world should be covered by a thick layer of clouds cooling the earth!

Harris concluded his interesting and unintentional debunking of the global warming myth by adding, “Tenberth and Willis agree that a few mild years have no effect on the long-term trend of global warming.” Is it just me or does anyone else’s mind get in a serious twist trying to understand these two?

What’s scary is that these are the same type of people foaming at the mouth in opposition to nuclear power!

Ilan Lipper and Jon Stone of the University of Michigan (Not a subsidiary of ExxonMobile) and co-authors of “Nuclear Energy and Society” In addition to the economic benefits achieved through the use of nuclear energy there are environmental benefits as well.” I guess so! There are no particulate releases into the air and for those still clinging to the man made global warming myth there are, as mentioned previously, no greenhouse gasses emitted for nuclear reactors! In fact, according to Lipper and Stone, “America’s nuclear energy plants reduce electric utility emissions of greenhouse gasses by 20 percent, or 128 trillion tons per year.”

“More than 400 nuclear power plants are operating in 25 countries around the world today, supplying about 17 percent of the world’s electricity, said Lipper and Stone. 400 around the world and the only deaths ever recorded were in Chernobyl where the Russians built a graphite tube reactor (graphite burns at high temperature) in a tin building! Lipper and Stone reveal that, “About 83 new nuclear reactors are being built around the world.” But no! The fixated extremists in the United States would rather have energy rationing and a lead-acid battery closet for their solar panels and wind mills!

Global warming is a bold faced lie and even the most wacko enviro-nuts know it!
