My paternal grandfather spent WWII driving a truck for Swift Packing just about 24 hours a day making sure meat products got to the Port of Corpus Christi or Houston so our troops could get fed. My maternal grandfather lay for three days in a trench in the Argonne Forrest in 1918 with a bullet hole in his leg. I happen to hold two Honorable Discharges and a Service Citation so I believe I have earned the right to say whatever I feel about the National Socialist in the White House! Just like I spoke my mind about the last president to live in the White House! However, more and more if I or anyone else decides to criticize this president we are called racists and I'm getting sick and stinking tired of it! Only the severely dim-whitted who can't answer simple questions resort to the race card! And despite very severe foot neuropathy I didn't come in tonight until well after dark. I earn every cent I get! And fishing for an insult about someone they don't even know shows just how sad and sick some people really are! If that offends the local left then if the jackboot fits wear it!

You seem more upset than usual.Anything in particular causing it?
September 18, 2009 at 7:43 a.m.I guess Dick Cheney doesn't have the right to get up and speak his mind because he doesn't have an honorable discharge from a branch of the military?
Freedom of speech is a right guaranteed by The Bill of Rights, without judgment imposed by another party as to whether you've "earned" it or "deserve" it.
Likewise, another person has the right to speak their mind about your opinions that you've made public.
September 17, 2009 at 4:42 p.m.I think you just about covered it for both, or should I say all of us, who agree with this post. And will live by it.
September 16, 2009 at 9:48 a.m.You have indeed earned the right as a true citizen in my opinion. We may not always agree, but we should agree to accept the disagreement without any attacks, because the disagreement should not separate us on every issue.
