We read the paper and watch the news on TV like it's going out of style. We learn about terrorist attacks, corporate greed, irresponsibility, homicides, the destruction of our ecosystems, horrible injustice, lack of parenting skills, and more, on any given day...and we wonder why life seems so boring...
Right, you think to yourself: "so much for today..."
Surrounding ourselves with terrible news tempts us to feel powerless when we view life through the eyes of the world. View life through the eyes of your spirit. Learn about a world that could be and ingest positive information to start the day. It's true that the law of consciousness -expands: Our focus amounts to a mental endorsement of the worldview that keeps the object of our focus, in check.
In order to change the world, we must first, change the mental lens in which we view it.

Very well said Alton... Excellent!
August 11, 2009 at 11:51 a.m.I am a realist and refuse to be an ostrich hiding my head in the sand. I am consciousness of the law that if one fails to have a plan of action for possible bad events, one is doomed for failure.
I start each day by observing God’s beauty; the beauty of nature that few take the time to really look at and behold. At the same time I look for anything that is out of place, anything that may harm my family. I take nothing for granted.
August 10, 2009 at 11:35 p.m.I have always been a "glass if half full" kind of person. The past year really exposed me to an overdose of "the glass is half empty" kind of individuals. I really had to separate myself from these people, and they are loved ones near and dear to my heart. I am much better for it. Life is too short to be miserable. I carefully plot my exposure to people who just drag me down emotionally.
April 4, 2009 at 10:32 a.m.Right on! Here lately the only thing i watch on television that informs me of everyday "going ons" is the weather channel! LOL! And the weather has been GREAT lately and so has my mood and my entire outlook on life. You can spend all your time and energy focusing on all the negative things going on or you can divert that time and energy and focus on the fact that you have been given another day. You have been blessed with good health, great vision, a loving family, and/or whatever else you may have going for you. i love my life.... no matter what minimal or massive problems i have going on. Someone out there always has it worse, and i feel for them. If i know someone i can help (whether it is a friend or a complete stranger), i will gladly help them but they have got to help themselves first. Otherwise i will be wasting my time and theirs.
