People are defeated in life not because of their- lack of ability, but for their- lack of wholeheartedness. They do not wholeheartedly expect to succeed. The results they picture in their mind are the outcome of what they truly believe. Which is to say, they themselves are not fully engaged and could care less to achieve the "best" out-come or result. The results they get are the ones they expect and ironically, these feelings lead to their own self-defeat.

Expecting the "best" means that you put your whole heart -into whatever it is your doing. (i.e., the central essence of your personality) into what you want to accomplish. A major key to success in life is; attaining that which you deeply desire. It is to release and throw all there is of yourself into your job or any project in which you are engaged. In other words, what ever it is your doing, give it all you've got! And, you put your whole "heart" into it and expect the "best" results.

A fundamental doctrine of Emerson is that the human personality can be touched with Divine power and thus greatness can be released from it. William James pointed out that the greatest factor in any undertaking is one's belief about it. Thoreau told us that the secret of achievement is to hold a picture of a successful outcome in mind. Remarkable as it seems, by applying these philosophies, they enable us to attain successful results in areas where we otherwise feel defeat.

Today: overcome your obstacles and live the "I don't believe in defeat" philosophy, cultivate a positive idea pattern deeply in your conscious mind and limit your expectations to nothing-less-than... being the "best!"
