One of the many joys of being a musician is seeing others take their first tentative steps in that direction. Many people have related to me that their children are going to guitar, or piano lessons. Many have also picked up an instrument themselves and found an innate ability as well as a deep love for music. There are even those who have related to me with that ‘light’ in their eyes, how they used to play music. All this proves that a deep kinship permeates the domain of musicianship.

Maybe not all who have or will attempt to become a musician will succeed. I know I have not, in the thirty-two years thus far, made money or secured anything akin to fame. I have however enjoyed every day that I’ve found a decent frame of time in which to ‘play’. The only person I’m trying to really impress is Glenda. If I can create something that moves her then I vindicate my resolve to re-double my efforts. If a tune ‘flops’ with her, then I have to understand why and look outside of the box for any vindication. In that sense, vindication from the outside world is scarce. It’s also something I never expect to find.

I will never relinquish my belief in the music that life inspires me to create. I will never go quietly into the night when it comes to the music that I love. I will always strive to react to the muses. They seem to never let me down. They are always there in my life, always pulling the strings that jostle my heart, my mind, and my soul, in just the right ways
