I’m pretty much an agnostic when it comes to politics. I have little or no desire to actually cast a vote. The world I have to live in is just something I’d rather deal with reactively. Pro-action is not my forte’ as far as politics are concerned.
You all had a few votes to cast today. I hope you studied the candidates as deeply as possible and cast your vote based on what you found. Whoever wins in any of today’s elections, I am sure I can live with. I’ve rarely ever had to ask to be ‘represented’ by anybody and I have always respected my representatives for the jobs they do.
I was going to go to Riverside Park for the Del Castillo concert but Today has found me just too worn out to do much of anything but type this blog. We were also going to see the new Iron Man movie but, like I said, I’m plain worn out.
I was feeling better last week until I had to go out in the field on a few wellsites. They weren’t absurdly long drives, just getting up at anywhere from midnight to four AM. Did I mention I spent three days working with 7-5/8 lubricator by hand? Backbreaking work when you have no forklift. We assembled four eight foot sections plus a short four footer. Everybody helped though so, it wasn’t too bad. I am sore today though and that head cold thingy is back with a feverish vengeance.
Glenda and Daisy went off to see Iron Man. My cough would have ruined it for all the other theatergoers. Glenda and I did do a wee bit of shopping today. We went to Kamin’s Furniture on the loop and looked at living room tables. She can’t decide between three so far. 95 KVIC had a DJ there. I kinda’ wish I had a CD to give him, but I know that’s probably just wishful thinking. From there we went to Hobby Lobby for black construction paper. I need it to replicate a chalk drawing technique. (Shucks! I forgot the hairspray!) We ended up with silk flowers and a red glass bowl too. The bowl is for the kitchen table and probably lemons. The flowers are to spruce up some vases Glenda has.
I turned my cell phone off last night. I was up from midnight between Thursday and Friday and all the way thru Friday. That’s not a personal record. It is the way I have to work. It also makes me feel my age. The only thing that can take that edge off is a guitar, or better yet, Glenda.
I can’t wait to see who you all voted into the Mayors seat. On another level entirely, I can’t wait to feel better. I have three new microphones back in the studio that I’m itching to try out. My head feels like a water balloon though.
Happy Mothers Day to Patricia Ann White, my Mom!!!! Love Ya!!!!!
