Reality in all of its annoyance can never be ignored. If it is not dealt with the consequences can be dire to say the least. Tasks must be addressed. Deadlines must be met. Bills must be paid. Left to languish for too long and reality will chew you up indignantly and spit you deep into the dust of time.

I often look back thru the debris of my life and turn over past events in my mind. The way situations evolved and the way I navigated them replay again. What could I have done to precipitate a different outcome? How many possibilities did I not see? The past is a concrete thing. It cannot be changed. The only light back down that tunnel is the wisdom that was eventually gained. That golden knowledge always awaits a day when it will become useful.

Unwritten music hovers silently just out of thought. It has legendary patience. The past, present, and future all flit about ceaselessly, waiting for a moment somewhere in time when dots become connected. When the connections are finally made spectrums find existence and notes jostle for space to reverberate into. Like a nervous herd the rumblings begin. Then, if all goes well, the stampede begins in earnest. No matter how long it takes for the dust to clear the run will never feel like it lasts long enough. The notes settle back down and the errant pieces of music that never fully attached themselves to the rest return to nowhere in particular. Then, and only then, reality and imagination must coexist with respect for one another. New music has been born and reality cannot deny it the existence it has earned!
