  • It's good to be almost done with the move and even better to be able to get in here and make a post (or 2)!
The new place has a creek nearby where I know cougars have been known to roam. (trust me. I saw a large one some yeras ago.)A new park is under construction and there are only two trips to the storage place left to do.
Here's to good old memories and the prospects for making new ones!
    Cheers!

  • When I was a kid I lived out in the country, so I played with imaginary friends. (kidding) I would hop on my bike and ride along the cornfield to a nearby pasture. I would make my way through the fence and go sit in one of the underground giant concrete drainage pipes. I didn't even THINK about snakes, strangers, rabid dogs... I felt free! It's like I had no fear. I miss that.

  • Jose! It is so good to see you back. I was wondering where you had gotten off to. I missed your posts.

I hope you know that even though I'm not from Victoria, I and my friends growing up in Houston had similar "kid" experiences. A bayou ran right behind my house, and was ripe for exploring, before they concreted the sides for "flood control". I think so much of that "flavor of childhood" you mention is a universal theme.

You have sent my memory back decades now. And that's not a bad thing. Thanks for the memories today, Jose!
