So apparently on March 25th of this year Representative Hank Johnson from Georgia, during a House Armed Services Committee meeting expressed concerns about moving 8,000 Marines and their families from Okinawa to Guam. If taken literally Rep. Johnson was concerned about the island "tipping over" but if he was speaking figuratively in regard to environmental issues (which he also brings up), that is difficult to discern.

The man he posed the question to is the commander of the U.S. Pacific Command Adm. Robert "Rat" Willard who happens to be my old CO from the Abraham Lincoln - well, he was just a Captain back then - very cool guy and a great CO.

It does seem that Adm. Willard had to stifle a chuckle when he was questioned about the island capsizing. However, he handled it with his usual professional but relaxed demeanor. Aside from the hilarity of Rep. Johnson's mysterious comments, it's nice to know the Pacific Fleet has a great commander.
