Blogs » Business Notebook » A creative cubicle ... is there such a thing?

As I'm sitting here writing this, I'm looking at the wall behind my computer screen. A light tan. It's not ugly and it's not horrible, but at the same time, it isn't thought-provoking.

And I don't think I'm alone. I know of few people whose work spaces have pizzazz. Wired news even hosted a contest for the "saddest cubicle" - and I only hope that, with the recognition the winner received, maybe they'll move him from his office. Apparently he sits beside the bathroom and microwave, under the light that doesn't work, in a room with no windows. Check out the story here.

But it doesn't make sense to me. If you're going to be somewhere for eight hours a day, five days a week, shouldn't it be somewhere you want to be? Or shouldn't you at least prop up a picture of Mom there on the desk?

I'd like to hear how you guys spice up your work spaces - I can use all the help I can get! I'll post some ideas later on, too. In the meantime, you could always go the tin foil route.
