Who out there plans to be up at 4 a.m. Friday to hit those door-buster sales when the stores open at 5?

Typically I would say "not me!" but I'll be out there talking to those early morning shoppers this year - probably with a large cup of coffee in one hand, a pen in the other and attempting to balance a legal pad somehow on my knees.

But that adrenaline rush you feel when running after that heavily marked-down DVD player is bound to wear off while you're standing in long lines at the check-out. That's why I'd love to see more creative shopping bags, like the ones pictured here. (The photos came from snopes.com.)

There are companies out there taking notice of the fact that the bag is prime advertising space and that there is a better way to get the point across than simply plastering the company logo across the front. (According to Snopes, it's called "bagvertising.") I think these bags are creative touches and could really brighten up what is sure to be a somewhat groggy morning.

Has anybody seen anything like these advertisements in your area? This Web site is the only place I've ever seen anything like this, but I'd love to see more!

  • Yeah, you're probably right about the gun bag - I'm not sure I'd feel especially safe seeing that in the department store, either. But the concept's good, if nothing else! :)

  • I don't think it would be a good idea to carry that gun bag into an airport - some security person might "over-react" before realizing the gun isn't  real. LOL   The bikini bag is kinda cute tho".
