A while back I wrote about an onslaught of Asian buffets making their way to Victoria. The sheer number rivaled (almost, at least) the number of Mexican restaurants the city had.

And I like both Asian and Mexican food. Love it, actually. But a bit of variety is a good thing.

That's why I'm glad to see a few new options heading to town.

I'm working on a story about the new eateries coming in. A new Thai restaurant recently opened in the Whispering Creek Shopping Center, for instance, while the Main Street Cafe offers a different type of food each day of the week. Another Cajun restaurant has a sign up on Navarro Street, although it hasn't taken out permits yet.

What do you think of the newcomers? Does Victoria need more variety or are you happy with the current offerings? What else would you like to see?

Inquiring minds want to know.
