• Thanks again, Matt for your efforts concerning the CAD board. Again, it's the fox watching the chickens on this board and whatever or whoever Armstrong, Halepaska and Polasek wants the get. I was a little surprised that David Hagan was silent in this matter.
Hopefully, the 2010 elections will help turn around actions like this back to the citizens.

  • It was a commendable effort.

  • Toni,

Sadly, the growing sentiment is that we're supposed to ignore these "little" displays of malfeasance because the city provides useful goods & services like streets & garbage collection. (The mob provides a great service with garbage collection too.) So now, as Matt suggested, the lingering assumption will be that there IS impropriety after that blatant disregard for a citizen's legitimate concern.

Amusingly, a common reaction from defensive citizens toward our criticisms is "What do you recommend?" in hopes we'll just clam up and go away. Well, the City received a mind-blowingly reasonable recommendation and hastily chose to ignore it.

  • "Without discussing" - exactly.

The city council isn't supposed to discuss things. They don't care what the citizens of Victoria want or need.

  • I would expect nothing less from the council.
