Ron Paul and those who support need to understand that they are not the only show in town. Cutting trillion dollars can be done within a year. Perhaps, 18 months tops rather than Ron Paul’s third year in office. So there is no need to eliminate five cabinet level departments like education.
The root problem such as the Department of education, which I back, is that the Department is not fighting the teacher unions. The Department is not being a fair judge with the political engineering over such topics. It should stop and prevent the antics of teachers, administration, and also that of the School board from doing harm on the student body and the system at large. That is really the problem in the education system. We spend money on a student to learn and to better him, but yet we hinder that student with outside interested groups who rather play social engineering and politics. Take a look at Michelle Rhee’s tenure at Washington DC public school. The students at that school district were forced to use old books because the teachers unions refuse to allow teachers/School officials to open up the book storage units which have new books.

  • Writein,

I'm sure there is a better way, but when will someone try one? I'm genuinely interested in your take on what would happen if we cut the entitlement programs Paul decided to leave alone to bridge the gap. He'll face resistance anywhere he cuts, so it seems he decided to make sure the transition wasn't as painful as it could be.

There is a better way to cut one trillion dollars. You simply cut 10-15% out of every budget item. If you cut 15% in this year’s budget you would save a trillion.

  • BSspotter, this filmette has outdone anything you have posted. This filmette should be required viewing by every high school and college student. Then, and only then, will these young people learn what their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents have done to their future.

Thank goodness, Logan's Run is only a science fiction movie. After our children view this filmette, Logan's Run could become science fact.
