  • Hello Riverboat
I don’t hide my bias but I am very much in favor of fiscal restraint, I have admired the way the GOP kept a tight hold on the purse strings in previous administrations.
I have said total dominance by any party will lead to scandals; I am for checks and balances.
If a Democrat wins the presidency, I hope they put a Republican in either the State Department, Department of Defense or the Treasury Department because we need opposing voices. Lincoln had many in his administration. Divided government works.

Mike, was this part of your post? 'Cause if it was, you're one of my new best friends. It's what I've been screaming for the last six years. That's how long it took for Bush to find which drawer his veto pen was put in as his Republican majority was running up a bill unheard of under DEMOCRATIC rule. I thought the Republican party was supposed to be the party of restraint and adherence in the principles of federalism.
