Ragman"Teleprompter" is just a right wing blog/radio speak for downgrading his great speeches....They all do it...lolSandwichh should try to memorize a long speech and deliver it without a flaw to move a crowd...It's really hard.At least John McCain can rest his neck...He doesn't have to keep moving his head up & down to read his notes like"My fellow prisoners."
AND also for Sandwichh------Obama didn't have a Teleprompter for his speech.
Ragman, Thanks for mentioning the difference in the two speeches. Democrats are a class act.I have to say that McCain's speech was great. I thought he did a great job, and for sandwichh, I guarantee you he used a teleprompter. Good job.I thought Obama's speech was very good, also. It was inspiring, very Kennedy-esque. Both were worth waiting up for.
BigJI know you must have a sense of pride and I don't blame you..."Yes we can " really means something now..Right.
RagmanGot to give it them Drudge did his best trying to put lies on his websites so the masses would reprint them but to no avail.Andrea Mitchell of MSNBC was telling Kathleen Parker about the stories of infighting that are being reported...One had Sarah Palin greeting two of McCain's top staffers wearing just a towel ....Seems like at the RNC convention she was taking a shower as the the two top staffers came to meet her..She came out to greet them with a towel to cover her body and one for her head and then she left them with Todd until she got dressed.....Ms Parker said"No wonder she needed as wardrobe."
Notice the differences in the crowd at the speeches last night? When John McCain was giving his speech, every time he mentioned Obama, the crowd booed and hissed. At least they didn't yell "kill him, terrorist". On the other hand every time Obama mentioned McCain the crowd, clapped and yelled approval. What a world of bitter folks out there!Headline of one web site:Black Man Gets Worse Job in the World!
LOL! Mike, I've heard not one word from anyone in my family other than my 19 year old Republican grandson at Sam Houston State in Huntsville. He had just gone to vote after work and called me. Of course, our conversation after politics were about how school and work were going and then, before he hung up, he gave me the Republican doom and gloom spin if Obama were to win. Later, around 10:30, he called to let me know that he had seen the election called and wanted to let me know that he is not optomistic about the future. I just have to love him. I gave him a positive spin and assured him that in the 232 years of existence we've had our ups and downs but we are all still here. I told him to get busy and study for his mid-terms! As for the other Republicans in my family, I will only hear from them when I go to visit and then I will be reminded once again of how racist and narrow minded they all are, but deeply loved by me!Yes, the Caller-Times endorsed McCain. I was very surprised; however, seems like Corpus becomes more and more conservative all the time. I saw online this morning where Todd Hunter, the Republican lobbyist, beat out Juan Garcia. I think the people of Nueces County are going to regret that one!
JohnYou can start by cutting out the use of so many verbs..Everyone is patriotic is a good place to start.1) Know that Victoria is an older conservative city and will remain GOP for a long time.2) Lets put race behind us..Barack Obama did not run a campaign based on race.3) You are no different than any other voter..When George W. Bush won (twice) I resumed my life and hoped for the best…We didn’t get it.
Like I stated Barck Obama is very intelligent and he wants an 8 year term; so this morning he asked Dick Luger (R-IN) to be his Secretary of State..Luger turned it down but he was asked….So it is substance over, rhetoric and verbs…You will see by his cabinet appointments in the next few days how he will govern.
" I belong to no organized party. I am a Democrat." That Will Rodger's remark embodies the big tent that is the Democratic Party. Democrats have always been more difficult to herd than Republicans. Fear not the new team at the top unless you are among the few afraid of losing the power and privilege of the past eight years. The new Sheriff will treat all alike, no special deals for friends and family. I'm glad, it's about time. As a country we are wrecked in the ditch. It's not going to be easy getting the wrecked car out of the ditch and fixed.
Does anyone believe Republicans “restore some sense, order and decency to government”.Does anyone believe this? After this eight year disaster of Biblical Proportion. You gotta be kidding yourself Shadow.
PatI agree 100% with you..That was a ploy to shame Democrats not to vote straight party because nationally they have the numbers.BTW How did your relatives take it?I was in your home town (Corpus Christi) for a two day seminar and you were right the Caller supported McCain and the most of the locals I mingled with were McCain supporters and they all were repeating the "spreading the wealth" slogan..For years I thought these people were pretty sharp....I noticed Alberto Gonzales was going to be guest of some organization..Why?...lolI do like the left leaning free periodicals..
What a glorious day for America and the American people! The only downside is that most Republicans are NOT John McCain. They probably gagged at his concession speech last night. He is truly a great American and I believe he loves his country more than he loves his party. I do have one last comment (which I know you disagree with, Mike), but I will never, ever believe another Republican who says, "I don't vote for the party, I vote for the man". Hence, John Cornyn is sent back to the Senate after voting FOR the bailout. Oh, well. Some people just never learn!Congratulations, America!
The Democrats don't have it in their make-up to be humble and that is one of the reasons every (8) years after a Democratic president has been in office, we elect a Republican, that, along with the need to restore some sense, order and decency to government. Now we just need to watch and see if the Russians back Obama into a corner over the missile defense system in place in Poland. If he blinks, and removes or halts the system it is over for Obama and America starts digging a hole.
