Only a physical and a few details that need to be worked out, is holding up the signing of future hall of famer catcher Ivan Rodriguez to a Houston Astro contract for 2009.
He will sign one year deal calling for $1.5 million a year plus $1.5 million in incentive clauses. …The economy must be hurting MLB, because that is awful cheap for a catcher of his credentials and his agent is Scott Boras.. I used to watch Texas Ranger and Detroit Tiger games just to watch him play. Astros fans will get a treat watching him play every day. he can hit, play defense, call a good game, and runners will think twice before attempting to steal off him.
I was looking for a so-so season for the Astros because their pitching excluding Roy Oswalt, but now I am ready for Astro baseball.
