  • Thank you very much arlewill

Thanks for sharing and I don't think we can stress that enough, stay busy on your own terms and try to keep your mind sharp

I agree supervisors(other than the ones we married) time clocks, and deadlines are things of the past...:-)

I'm glad you found your challenge... My mother willed her house to the four of us but left me with the unpopular and unappreciated job of administrator... The other heirs lived out of town, so all their ideas of maintaining and keeping the house in the family centered around me making it happen.. I finally convinced them that selling the house would be in their financial interest because my services would not be that cheap ..:-)

    Have a good one

Happy birthday and welcome to my world. You are right about needing something to do and a challenge when a person retires.
I think the greatest benefit is I don't have to rush to meet appointments and deadlines, got rid of the pager and company phone.
My challenge has been to make improvements to the property, my Mother gave me in 1996. This has worked well and the job will never end and I have accomplished a lot.
Mike, a good blog and my compliments.

  • Indeed happy belated birthday. Sitting down reading a paper with a cup of coffee sounds like a good time to me as well. I will look forward to it, for now, I have three little rascals that take the breaking out of news and put it in valuable objects around the house like my coffee maker!
